Meet the lab
Emilio Grande (He/His)
I am a hydrologist with interests that range across disciplines. My expertise include surface water-groundwater exchanges, stream water age distributions, stream nutrient dynamics, runoff generation, subsurface biogeochemistry, and groundwater mixing in salt marshes.
I use environmental tracers, mostly isotopic tracers, as a tool to understand the movement of water across different landscapes. Further, as part of my coastal hydrology work, I use information theory and time-frequency analysis of continuous environmental data to understand processes over short periods (e.g., at intra-tidal scales).
My work has generally focused on field-collected data coupled with analytical models to improve our understanding of hydrological processes that expands beyond study sites.
